SILAT SFI FIGHTING

INDONESIAN FILIPPINO SYSTEM

S.F.I. Fighting originates from the internal martial arts of the Satria who were the Shamanic warriors of Southeast Asia.

It’s an “Asian style” Martial combat system, which blends different styles of the Philippines and Indonesia, keeping the traditional part unchanged.

The SFI system develops more combat capacity in the medium and short distance and the ability to “stick” to the opponent.

Traditional styles from which the SFI system originates are:

Serrada style

Abànico style

Pencak style

Harimao style

Satia Hati Style

Sumatra style

The fundamental principles on which the method is based on are:

Fluidity

Rhythm

Coordination

Time

The method of training and learning, is developed in 4 specific sectors that have a strong focus on the complete and balanced growth of the practitioner.

Conditioning

II Technique

III Esotericism

IV Spirituality

The SFI combat drills are:

Stick to the opponent

Deflect and support the opponent's movements

Advance and stifle the opponent's movements

Wrap your opponent with your movement

Close the opponent

Finalize

These are the 6 points on which the SFI System way to fight is developed in all its technical fields

Weapons

Empty hand

Ground fight and grappling

More opponents at the same time

FROM WEAPONS TO EMPTY HANDS

The learning path of the Martial Art is divided into two primary groups, that embrace all the styles

Path from Empty hands to armed hands

Path from the armed hands to the Empty hands

In the first path the student learns the principles of art, first with Empty hands and then brings them back to armed ones, this means that when he uses the weapons, he will have the frequency, rhythm and fluidity of his hands.

While in the second path, the student learns the principles of art first using the weapons and then brings them back to the empty hands, this means that when working with empty hands, it will have the frequency, the rhythm and the fluidity of the weapons.

Each weapon (short sticks, long stick, machete, etc ...) has its own frequency, which allows the student to develop the rhythm and fluidity necessary to use the weapon itself.

In the SFI the second path is used, the one from the weapons to the bare hands and the main weapon used is the machete, as it develops the frequency suitable to apply the fundamental principles on which the system is based on.
